Amy Beaudet

Tom & Amy Volcada

Amy has been teaching or studying how to teach for the past 17 years. Subjects included Life Sciences, Art, Meditation, Reiki, and Argentine Tango since 2008. She began Argentine Tango lessons in 2006, learning a salon style of tango. She danced regularly in milongas around New England and Boston, including frequent attendance at the Boston Tango Festival and Tango de los Muertos. Influences include Miriam and Hugo, Tova and Carlos, Homer and Cristina, Brigitta Winkler, and Eric Jorissen. Amy began teaching group Tango and Meditation classes in Exeter, NH in 2008. When she moved to Colorado in 2009 she taught classes in Carbondale for Colorado Mountain College and was active in the tango community in the Roaring Fork Valley.

Amy moved to Denver in late 2010 and began teaching with Tom Stermitz at that time. Amy was the event and volunteer coordinator for the Denver Tango Festivals. Amy strives to build a cooperative and welcoming tango community for people of all ages. She has recently completed training in Brain Compatible Dance Education and is excited to be teaching Creative Dance for All Ages as of Fall 2015. Look for Brain Compatible Tango curriculum, too!
Current projects: Increasing Availability for Tango Private Lessons, Pre-School classes at Young Peoples Learning Center, Classes at the Gardens on Spring Creek, and Tango for Parkinsons.
